Topeka High School Madrigals, Directed by Alexander Piazza

Please join us on Friday, December 8, as we hear songs performed by The Topeka High Madrigals and directed by Alexander Piazza!

The Topeka High Madrigals is a group of 12 singers who perform music from a variety of styles and time periods, with a focus on acapella choral literature. The 2023-2024 Madrigals consist of 2 seniors, 4 juniors, and 6 sophomores. These students are actively involved in the greater THS community as StuGo members, athletes, thespians, honor roll students, and much more. Additionally 6 of these students were selected to perform in the NEKMEA District Honor choir on December 2nd.

**Slight agenda change: THE PERFORMANCE will begin promptly at 7:40 am, ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL FOLLOW. Breakfast and coffee will still be served at 7:30 am!**

Lunch Bunch - Dec 13

Our next Lunch Bunch will be Wednesday, December 13th.

Please see the attached flier for details. Here is some additional information not included in the flier:
Once you have located the main entrance, you will be buzzed through a set of outer doors. Once inside, go up the stairs to be buzzed through a second set of doors. The school office will be immediately to your right. You will sign in on a volunteer sheet so the office will know who is in the building. We will be using a classroom this year instead of the library. The office secretary will know which class we will be using that day.

If you are a new TSR member, the flier provides an explanation of what the volunteers do. For anyone who has never tried this program, we would love to have you.  If you have previously volunteered for Lunch Bunch, thank you so much and I hope you can join us again this year.  If your schedule does not permit you to volunteer in-person at the school, you are always welcome to help by donating books, especially 2nd-5th grade levels.

My contact information is on the flier. Please let me know if you can join us.

Amelia Earhart Museum Voting

Greetings fellow Rotarians!

One of the many amazing parts of being District Governor is the opportunity to visit Northeast Kansas communities, meet fellow Rotarians and learn about exciting opportunities.

Last week during the Atchison Club visit, Mindi Love Pendergraft, Rotarian and executive director of the Atchison Amelia Earhart Foundation, shared the following opportunity with her club members. Would you mind helping the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum, in their quest to be the Best New Museum?

A request from Mindi:
The Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum has been nominated in USA Today’s 2024 10Best Readers' Choice travel awards. We were selected as a contender for Best New Museum. The contest gives voters four weeks to vote for the candidate of their choice at https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-new-museum-2024/. A person can vote once a day for the run of the contest, which ends on December 25th (voting started Monday, November 27). The 10Best will be announced on January 5th. It’s a long game to keep the momentum going through December 25th, and we’d love your help.

Sincerely,
Jenalea
