Woodland Public Charity 15th Anniversary!
Woodland Public Charity is celebrating its 15th Anniversary!  Rotarian (former Lenexa Rotarian)  Jorge Coromac is the head of this organization and has coordinated with the Shawnee Mission Northwest Interact Club on their trips to Guatemala and Panama.

Woodland Public Charity became involved in Central America in 2002, to address the worldwide crisis of lack of access to education, health and safe drinking water.  Ongoing community participatory programs have been established to respond to these critical needs working closely with the local leaders and families of Guatemala, Honduras, and Panama.

The goal of the program is to facilitate education, health, nutrition, dental care, neonatal care, and access to safe drinking water.

If you would like to attend this event, please contact Jorge.  If you or your company wishes to become a sponsor of this event, see the sponsorship information below and contact Jorge.

Tree Planting - THANK YOU!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to plant trees to make Lenexa beautiful! Lenexa Rotarians worked with the Lenexa Parks & Recreation staff last weekend to plant 33 trees along the trail at Clear Creek as part of a challenge to plant one tree for every member of our club. Need a Make-Up?

When a member misses a meeting, there are several ways to make up for the absence:
  • Attend a Club function -- board meeting, committee meeting, project, Youth Exchange
  • Attend a District or International function -- Rotary Youth Exchange, PETs, District Conference
  • Online make-up - Rotary eclub One - go to www.rotaryeclubone.org
  • Attend another Rotary Club meeting
    • While out-of-town for vacation or business
    • In-town around the KC area
    • Download the app "Rotary Club Locator" and find a Rotary club anywhere in the world.
Rotary International bylaws state that a member can make up for a missed meeting within two (2) weeks before or after the meeting.  if you anticipate missing a meeting, you can make up for it up to 2 weeks before that date.  If you miss a meeting, you have up to 2 weeks after the missed meeting to make up.  If a member attempts to make up at another club and that club either did not meet that week, or changed venues, the club member can let their club's secretary know the date and time of the attempted make-up and it will count as a makeup toward a missed meetings.  Send all make-ups to our club secretary, Jerry Henson via email.
