2014 District Foundation Dinner

The registration for the 2014 District 5870 Foundation Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, February 8, at the Omni Austin Downtown Hotel is now OPEN.  Please mark your calendars and make sure that this gets passed along to your club’s members …perhaps by putting it in your bulletin or on your website. 

You can register by going to the District website at www.rotarydistrict5870.org.  The cost is $70 per person …event parking is free in the hotel’s underground garage.   The dress is Business Attire.

This is going to be a fabulous evening in an equally fabulous great setting.  The Omni is going all out to make it a memorable occasion.   Making it most special is that RI President Ron Burton is scheduled to join us as our guest speaker!   

And this year, we’re going to do something different:  Instead of just thanking those of us who gave money to The Rotary Foundation since the last Foundation Dinner -- yes, we’re still going to recognize Major Donors, Bequest Society Members and White Hats – we are going to also recognize a few GREAT Rotarians who have done incredible things on behalf of The Rotary Foundation, things ranging from their work with international humanitarian projects to participating in National Immunization Days (NIDs).  It’s high time that they get publicly recognized for this service.

Speaking about this recognition – the deadline for submitting a member of your club for District 5870 Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award is January 15, 2014.

And, finally, the district is going to make a contest out of this event:  The club with the highest number of members in attendance, and the one with the highest percentage of members attending, will EACH win a Paul Harris Fellow to give to any member of their club.  And, a club can win both if they qualify!

Let's show everyone that The Rotary Club of Georgetown is be best club in this district by again having the largest number of attendees at this special dinner.
