"Why We Give to the Rotary Foundation"

Past District Governor Russ Hobbs ----

Russ grew up in Santa Cruz County and graduated from Santa Cruz High, Cabrillo College, and Chico Sate College (where he met his wife of 49 years Mary Ann), before entering the Army and attending Officer Candidate School.  Russ was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and served in Korea before getting out of the Army in 1969 and beginning his career with Allstate Insurance.  Russ owned an Insurance Agency in Sunnyvale until he retired in 2009 after 40 years in the insurance business.  In 1982 he was asked to join the Sunnyvale Rotary Club and served as Club President in 1995.  At the District Level, he has served as Chair of the Scholarship Committee, Membership Committee,  Assist Governor and Governor in 2006-7.  Currently, Russ is the Chair of The Rotary Foundation.  He has traveled all over the world on Rotary Humanitarian Projects, and today will talk about, "    WHY WE GIVE TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION"
