President’s Greeting by HeatherGood Afternoon & welcome to the Rotary Club of Mountain View where: We’re More Than A Club…We’re a Family!!!  
My name is Heather Stenshamn, your President for 8 more weeks :-) 
Our International call to action for 2021-2022 is “Serve to Change Lives.”  Our club’s call to action is “As a Family We Serve to Change Lives.”  Thank you all for joining us today and it’s so great to see smiles in person.

Greeter & Thought for the Day:  Noting that several of us have spent the past several months taking time to clean out our closets, Cathy M. shared a quote attributed to Oprah Winfrey:  “If you look at what you have in life, you’ll always have more.  If you look at what you don’t have, you’ll never have enough.”

General Club Announcements: 
Board and committee chair meeting Wed, May 18th at 5:30pm via ZOOM.
 
Tom Myers announced that CSA will be honoring supporters on May 25th, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, at Neutra House in Los Altos.  Members or our Club are invited. 
 
The Road Runners group sponsored by El Camino Hospital is seeking more volunteers to drive clients to their doctor’s appointments. 
 
District Announcements: 
  • District Training Assembly is via ZOOM, May 16-19 (Monday to Thurs); a detailed schedule has been announced. 
 
SPEAKER: Janice LeFevre and Jeanette Arenott, Foundation Coordinator Cochairs for D517. 
 Inner Wheel District 517 (same as Rotary 5170) members are part of International Inner Wheel (IIW) one of the world’s largest women’s service organizations with over 104,000 members in 105 countries and geographical areas.  Our Aims are friendship, community service and fostering international relationships.   Along with local community projects, all members support IW’s Myoelectric Limb Project that provides arms and hands to children missing an upper limb at birth or due to accident or illness, from ages 6 months to 18 years, or receive their adult B-Bionic Arm. IW partners with Hanger Clinics, a nationally acclaimed company with expertise in upper limb myoelectric prosthetic technology, and 835 easily accessible Clinics across the U.S. Hanger provides IW prosthetics at cost, plus, donates many hours of fittings the prosthetics and years of caring for the children until adulthood.  As a result of Hanger’s great generosity, over $1,000,000 of Inner Wheel funds have provided more than $3,000,000 of prosthetics and services to help children.

  • Cathy announced the 4th week social will be held May 24th at Vaso Azzurro Restaurant, 108 Castro Street, Mountain View. Our Rotary Club has reserved outdoor seating for our happiness, starting at 5:30pm.
