Meeting Notes by Paul

Greeter & Thought for the Day:  Ernie Hawks – Your presence is a present to the world.   You are unique and one of a kind.  Your life can be what you want it to be.  Take the days just one at a time.

Song of the Day:  Let me call you sweetheart

Introduction of Visitors:  We had Dick’s wife Patricia and his brother-in-law George as well as Bert’s friend Nancy joining us today.

Vocation Spotlight: Anita Grossman – she discussed her journey here from Chicago in the 70’s, her search for a teaching job and working at the City of Mountain View.  She has been working in various fund raising positions for 30 years.

SPEAKER INTRO: Twana Karney will introduce our speaker today, Seth Shostak, PhD - SETI
Seth is a national speaker who has been extensively published.  He said there will be 4 areas with big discoveries in the 21st century: 1) Biology – understanding diseases and aging, 2) Space Living – big rotating cans orbiting the planet where people live, 3) Finding proof of other life in space, and 4) Artificial Intelligence – machines that can think.  Very interesting discussion.
