Dick Lubman informed us about the Rotary Peace Fellowship program. There are 6 programs worldwide with 1 being at Duke University. These programs operate in partnership with several premier institutions of higher learning. The program in the U.S. is through Duke University. The goal of this program is to develop leaders who become catalysts for peace and conflict resolution in their communities and around the globe. The program relies on Rotarians to help identify potential candidates with a goal of selecting approximately 50 master’s degree fellows each year.

Neil has been in Silicon since 1986 and has worked at numerous companies and founded his own company which was taken public in the 1990”s.
Neil shared what he believes are the 5 unique combination of things that are available in Silicon Valley which allow for the continued growth of the technology industry.

These are:

Smart People
World Changing Ideas
Risk Taking Attitude
Connections with educational institutions
Availability of money for capital investment

The combination of these elements have allowed for a mindset and economic model that has changed the world.
