Announcements
Thanks to Twana for being our 4-fer today. The thought for the day was a rumination on the fact that the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and moon walk of July 20-21, 1969 is happening this coming weekend. She recommended the new documentary Apollo 11, with never before seen footage that can be found on YouTube.
President’s Club – Three people have joined the President’ Club already, Alan, Bruce and Dave. President Tom is inviting others to join as well. It is $150 to join, the same as last year. Judy Hannemann decided to join today, in honor of the World Series for 5 to 6 year olds that she recently attended nearby in California.
Board Meeting Date Change – The date of the first quarterly board meeting has been changed from August 15 to August 22 at 5:30 pm at CSA.
Community ServiceDave – Dave was not present but CSA is again volunteering with CSMA and the sign up sheet for events has already been started.
Membership efforts -- Bring a friend to Rotary!
Foundation Minute -- Monique was not present. President Tom is very proud of the fact that Mountain View Rotary is a club that has 100% of its members donate to RI in most years. His goal again for this year is to have 100% of our club members donate to RI.
Socials - Tori – Monthly Social Signups. Tori passed around a schedule for signups for the months in which there are evening socials. She still needs to have a sign up for the evening social which is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30th.
Meeting Set Up/Tear Down – Hiro does a fantastic job of helping to set up and break down for meetings at the Adobe each Tuesday. President Tom is encouraging club members to arrive early and/or stay late to help Hiro with set up and break down.

Program introduced by Paul Reinhart

“Anti Bullying Youth Program” – with Nicholas and Candace Domingo. Nicholas Domingo is the Executive Director of the 501c3 “Captain Encouragement. He is a 28 year old who has stepped into many arenas of work in his life ranging from manual labor and business development to modeling and acting.  Through his acting career, He has been seen on Nickelodeon’s “The Thundermans”, Disney’s “Mighty Med” and The Arsenio Hall show. Through his travels he has shifted his focus to create impact in our world. He has dedicated his life to running the superhero based non-profit youth program, Captain Encouragement, the first superhero teaching real values to kids and showcasing powers based on anti-bullying techniques. He now runs this successful program with his wife, Candice Domingo. Their program has been featured in The Boston Globe, The Rotarian Magazine, The Kansas City Star, The Union Democrat Newspaper, guest on Action 41 news and guest on various radio stations to promote their mission.

Nicholas, with his wife Candice, started the non-profit four and ½ years ago to help reduce violence, bullying and suicide among youth by modeling positive emotions and behaviors for school age children from grade K-3. Nicholas created a positive “super hero” role model named Captain Encouragement to help influence and change the youth culture from within. He emerged dressed in the full Captain Encouragement costume (see pictures) that he wears when he visits school assemblies. At the school assemblies, he teaches about emotional literacy and positive actions in the persona of Captain Encouragement, complete with Captain Encouragement comic books and stickers. Part of the program is to introduce real life heroes to kids like police officers and fire fighters and to help kids learn to identify safe adults. He is looking to implement the program in three elementary schools in Mountain View.
