Fred Storek thought we should be aware of funny things about taxes which are important to the IRS. We should beware of the taxman but be thankful he helps to run the country.

 

Phil encouraged us (and the Giants) to go to out to the Ball game.

Bob Williams was recognized for joining the Presidents Club and being a Paul Harris Fellow +7.

A) - Avenues of Service in San Jose, Thursday, Oct 21, at Double Tree Inn, where Live B) - Scanning for Youth Protection will be available 4-6.30 pm for Rotarians working with young people.

D) - Rotacare Fundraiser, A Sante event in Sunnyvale on November 11.

E) - Our Holiday Party, Dec 4

F) - Crab Feed, January 29, 2011.

Alicia Crank leaves on November 2 for Ghana.

           

Bert announced that the Club will be sponsoring a student for the Rotary Youth Exchange Program in the coming year. There will be no ski trip this winter because of lack of participants..

 

President Sandi is looking for a volunteer to be webmaster for the Club.

 

Judy questioned Ken, Fred, Kirsten, Phil and Jerylann about the current Rotarian magazine and levied fines for poor answers. Remember Reach Out To Africa

 

President-Elect, Anita Grossman introduced Dr. Bharat Pandya, a Surgeon from Mumbai Borivali Club, India. He spoke of the problems of drought around the world and the need to respond. Clubs in his District 3140 working with The Rotary Foundation have helped to build 29 Check Dams to save water for hundreds of people in India. Gifts of Education, Dignity and Sight have been made through TRF to sufferers in many areas. We should invest in the Future by supporting The Rotary Foundation which is the backbone of Rotary.
