Message from 2016 - 2017 Club President

I am honored to serve as President of the Mountain View Rotary Club for 2016-2017. I have enjoyed being a member since 2010 and have learned so much about this wonderful service club. The amount of commitment from members all around the world and the work that has and continues to be done is simply amazing and inspires me to be a better person!

 

Our Rotary International President John Germ’s theme this year is: Rotary Serving Humanity. Our District Governor Jeff Orth’s call to action is: Attract the Young, Have Lots of Fun, Get More Done!

 

We are not a large club but we certainly “get it done”, we work hard on both local and international projects. Some of our local service projects include: Steven’s Creek Trail clean up days, serving meals at Hope’s Corner, community work days for CHAC, CSA, Living Classrooms and Cops & Gobblers. We provide community service grants and local youth scholarships. Our international projects include: Vaccination events in India, AIDS Prevention programs in Liberia & Tanzania, Dental training programs in China and one of our recent projects was a Rotary District Wheelchair Drive, offering mobility to those in need in Monterey Mexico.  We want to make the World a better place so we count on the input from our members & welcome the opportunity to look at projects that are of interest to our membership. The generosity of our club members is something we are very proud of.

 

We also like to have fun…some of our social activities include a rotating dinner, ski trip, golf tournament, ball games and more. We encourage family involvement and enjoy seeing our members and families creating life-long memories!

 

Our weekly meetings are a great way to build long lasting relationships with fellow Rotarians. We have a great speaker program and share a nice hot catered lunch. We also do evening socials which is another opportunity for fellowship.
