Presentations: Alicia & Sandi were presented a Proclamation from Mayor Ronit Bryant last Tuesday at the City Council meeting for World Polio Day. Passed around for all to see.

Alicia’s flight left at noon today from SFO – ATL – Ghana by noon tomorrow.

Club Announcements:

-Presidents Council meeting scheduled for next Tuesday 11:30am at Adobe

-Board Meeting Wednesday, 11/10 at 5pm at the YMCA Rotary Room

-Asante – Rotacare Fundraiser will be Thursday Nov.11th Del Monte Bldg in Sunnyvale. Carla has tickets for sale. She is still looking for Auction items & a bottle of wine for the wine cooler.

-Alan – Update on the Interact Fall Leadership Conference held on the 17th & was well attended.

-Holiday Party, Saturday, 12/4, 6 pm at Don Giovanni’s. Will do gift exchange. Started RSVP list.

-Judy has a student that wants to be an exchange student. Hal will accompany her to help interview & if anyone else would like to be a part of interview process, please let her know.

-Flu Shots – 2 staff from Rotacare Clinic provided shots as well as updates on new and  expanded care.

-Bruce Barsi reminded us of Cobs & Gobblers 11/21, 9 am at Police Dept.

-Walt Joyce: Services on 11/19 for Past District Governor Jim Walker’s wife Linda.

Foundation – Gerry Felix: November is Official Foundation Month. Talked about being a sustaining member $100. Life changing for those in need. Join & get raffle tickets.

-Beverly Tucker & Rich Casey from Los Altos Rotary – Aids project in Liberia: Thanked us for our contribution to the program ($900). Reviewed the Child Aids Prevention program in Africa. Working on Global Strategies for HIV Prevention – major work in Liberia. Looking to expand into other countries. Education, Counseling & Testing. They want to test all pregnant women. Going for Global Grant ($75K). Team of 6 going to Liberia end of Feb for project. Looking at long term funding, 5-10 year project. Looking for ways to raise money. “$1; 1 Dose; 1 Life Saved”
