Announcements:

 

Elaine spoke about the MVPAL "Night of Laughter" fund raiser coming up on Sept. 27th at the MVCPA. Pre-events start at 5:30 with main show starting at 8:00. Host this year is local comedian Brian Copeland and the headliner is D.L. Hughley. Ticket price includes open bar ( beer & wine ) & hors d'oeuvres, live and silent auction and raffle. President Bruce attended last year and said it was a great event. Sounds like a great event for Rotarians to support and attend!!

Bruce Bonus Bucks were distributed to Monique Kane, Dennis Kobza & Paul Reinhart for their admission to the the President's Club as well as to Twana Karney and Jim Cochran for their help in picking fresh fruit for donation to local charity.

 

Funmaster Dave Cole extracted money from Judy Hanneman, Twana Karney, Sheila Hodgkinson and Heather Stenshamm for various and sundry reasons not least of which was their ability to keep their lunch down in spite of his lame jokes.

Dan pointed out that 35% of Americans say they don't contribute to a retirement plan. Dan then proceeded to give an informative talk about opportunities available to shelter more of your income from the IRS through various retirement plans now available. Among these are:

Cash Balance Plans, Defined Benefit Pension Plans as well as the traditional 401(K) and profit sharing plans.
