President Judy opened meeting at 12.30 pm at the Adobe Building.

 

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Sheila remembered dates to celebrate, Saint Patrick's Day, which marks this death on March 17,461 A.D. and five centuries before that, the Ides of March, when Caesar was warned not to go to the Capitol.

 

Phil Armi in his annual shamrocked hat had the Club remember Irish Eyes.

 

Brad Wardle, Mountain View Fire Chief, was again welcomed as a visitor.

 

Bruce put more members in jeopardy- Judy, Jim Spangler and Ken.

 

Ken asked for volunteers to help interview scholarship applicants next week.

 

President Judy urged attendance at the District Conference in Napa on March 22-24. Rotarian Robert Coultas will speak on Saturday morning. “Rotary changes people..people change the world”. He is inspirational and pertinent to Clubs' efforts to attract and keep members. Dick Henning will speak on Saturday evening.

Bill Maston showed the second installment of his video about work in Fiji and told us more about his challenges and achievements in dealing with villagers and their chief. The Club should consider how we might promote an International Rotary project to help improve the lives and environment of people in Fiji.

 

Next week, March 19, Carole Leigh Hutton will tell us some facts about United Way, Silicon Valley.
