Meeting Notes - October 22, 2019

                                                             
President’s Greeting:   Tom welcomed those in attendance.   He reminded us that our Rotary International theme for this year is “Rotary Connects the World”.  Our Mountain View Rotary Club theme is “We Connect the Community.”

Introduction of Visiting Rotarians & Guests:  Paul.   Six visiting Rotarians were introduced. 
 
LEAD Program in Africa:  Will Smith, visiting Los Altos Rotary member.   Will introduced the Club to a potential project in Liberia.   Jack, our International Chair, will be discussing the possibilities of joining in on this project with our Board.  
 
Announcements:
  • Thanks to Scott  for being the “4’fer” today.
  • Tom thanked those who had joined the President’s Club. 
  • There will be a Board Meeting on November 21st, 5:30 p.m., at CSA.  
  • Dave announced there are 10 signups for the Stevens Creek Trail clean-up project this Saturday, Oct. 26th.   He passed around the sign-up sheet for CSMA ushering.  
  • Anita gave an update on next Tuesday’s Rotary Social hosted at her house.   She will send out an email one more time.  
  • Monique and Tom presented an additional Paul Harris Fellow Award to Heather.  
     
 
Program:  Introduced by Scott.  
Mountain View Police Chief Max Bosel gave a department update.  Chief Bosel gave a general overview of progress he is making towards three police department goals in the areas of law enforcement, community engagement, and internal affairs.    There were questions and answers.  
 
Future Schedule:
 
October 29th:    No luncheon.   Rather, there is an evening social at Anita’s house.
 
November is Rotary Foundation Month
