Meeting Bulletin - October 10, 2017

                                                            

Scott, President for 2017-2018, welcomed all to the meeting at 12:30pm.

 

A special thank you was shared for Hiro as he presented a Thought for the Day.  Hiro is always the first member to arrive on Tuesdays to ensure the room is ready to welcome all members.  Thank you Hiro!!              

 

Special songs were lead by guest of Songmaster Phil, his daughter Jody and husband Fred who are visiting to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.  Beautiful harmony was enjoyed by all. 

 

Bert lead the introduction of several guests and visiting Rotarians with a special announcement that a new member application by Linda was submitted.  Dick shared a Vocational Minute including how Rotarian businessmen in City of Chicago started public restrooms so extend the shopping day.  

 

A cupcake Foundation Minute by Monique was enjoyed by several.   

 

Announcements:

       Club members enjoyed a beautiful performance of “An American In Paris” last Saturday and dinner after. 

       Community Service activity with CSMA will begin October 22nd.  A sign-up was passed around. The Trailblazer run was a success on September 24th with Rotary sponsorship on the T Shirts, several shirts are available for taking.   

       Mentor Tutor Connection is holding Volunteer Information Open House on Oct. 18th, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the MVLA District Office. 

       Tom invited all to share farewells to Maureen on Thursday, October 12st at Don Giovanni’s.

       Jim joined the President Club to celebrate his engagement that became official on Saturday and a wedding being planned for next year. 

       Next Board Meeting is Thursday, October 19th  at 5:15 p.m. 

 

Today’s Speaker was introduced by Judy.  Dr. Ayinde Rudolph, Superintendent of Mountain View Whisman School District.  Dr. Rudolph shared his reflection of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and a new Response Instruction Program at all schools.  He is taking the lead to meet every students needs and providing resources to make this a success.  President Scott shared Dr. Rudolph is truly a visionary leader and thank you for all you do for our children and community.  In lieu of a speaker gift, the club is making a donation to our Rotary Polio Plus” Program on Dr. Rudolph’s behalf.   Polio Plus is an effort to eliminate polio from the world.
