Good Afternoon & welcome to the Rotary Club of Mtn. View where: We are a Fun, Enthusiastic & Inspiring Rotary Family… we are the BEST Rotary Club Around!!!
 
Our International call to action for 2016-2016 is to “Rotary Serving Humanity” Our District Governors call to action is “Attract the Young, Have Lots of Fun, Get More Done!”
Our club’s call to action this year is “Make the World a Better Place!”  Thank you all for joining us today.

General Club Announcements:
 
  • Jerylann - Next Board Meeting is Thursday, August 18 at 5:00 pm at CHAC.
 
  • Jerylann – Reminded everyone there won’t be fines this year so please join the President’s Club.  Also we want to increase the Endowment so if you have items to auction let her know.
 
  • The social at Tori’s was a lot of fun.  Her pig enjoyed it too!  She is looking for someone to host the August 30th social if anyone is interested.   Also there is an ice cream social this Sunday in Old Mountain View if you can come out in your Rotary shirts and pass out info on Rotary.
 
  • Birthday’s this month included: Heather, Walt, Sara, Jack and Bruce.  Rotary Anniversaries included: Twana and Jerylann.
 
Club Assembly:
 
Twana – Past-President’s goals
  • 1) Plan the kick out, 2) Annual Fund raiser (50/50 chance of this), and 3) support Jerylann
 
 
Jim S. – Endowment
  • Endowment fund does not generate enough income to pay for the $7500 in scholarships we give out each year. The fund gets contributions through $50 for new members, $50 for the President’s Club and generous donations such as by Bob Williams
 
Dave – Community Service Projects
  • Dave is working to have our club volunteer at concerts.   He passed out a signup sheet for volunteers.
 
District Announcements:  There are 3 training seminars this summer and you can register on-line.   Let Jerylann know if you are interested in attending.
  1. Rotary Foundation Fund Development – Saturday 8/6 8:30 – 12 TBA
  2. Rotary Foundation Grant Training – Saturday 8/20 8:30 – 12 in Hayward
  3. Rotary Membership Training – Saturday 8/27 9 – 12:30 at the Milpitas Embassy Suites
 
Fred introduced our speaker this week, Jim Colton, a professional photographer discussing his latest trip to Cuba
