Our International call to action for 2015-2016 is to “Be a Gift to the World

Our club’s call to action this year is “Being the Best We Can Be.”  Thank you all for joining us today.

Introduction of Visitors:  Jerylann Mateo. Our visitors included Ellen Kamei who is interested in becoming a member.  Also we welcomed Imelda White, Kim Copher from Los Altos Rotary, Kathy Hall, Thida Carnes and Dennis Potter.
 
Foundation Cupcake Minute: Monique provided an update and also received her 2nd Paul Harris Award.
 
General Club Announcements:
 
  • Thanks to Judy Hannemann for providing dessert today.  Also to Sanjay for sharing the chocolates he received from our former exchange student Valerie
 
  • Scott: Community Service for April: Steven’s Creek Trail Cleanup on Sat., April 16 from 9 am to 12pm meeting at Whisman Park, 310 Easy Street. Sign up sheet.
 
  • Bruce: Rotating Dinner is set for Saturday, May 7th. Save the Date.
 
  • Sanjay: New Volunteer Opportunity with Hope’s Corner delivering food on Saturday mornings.  We still need some more volunteers.
 
  • Twana: Sign up sheet going around for an extra community service work opportunity in April to help Hope’s Corner place a new floor. This is not part of our monthly community project but is an extra one. Sign up to help on April 22, 23 or 24th.
 
  • Twana/Walt: Golf Tournament: June 10th at Shoreline. Save the date and more details to come.
 
  • Twana/Alan: Kick Out Dinner:  Save the date, Friday, June 24th
 
  • Twana: Next Tuesday, April 12, at our regular time of 12:15 here at the Adobe, we will have a Club Assembly with a theme of Celebration. Please join us – there will be cake and music and lots of fellowship.
 
  • Twana Next Board Meeting Thursday: – April 21st 5:00 pm at CHAC.
 
  • Ken informed the group that our club gave out $7000 in scholarships this year.
 
  • The clip board to sign up to be Speaker Chair for a month was circulated.
 
 
District Announcements:
 
 
District Conference: We will have a table for our Club at the District Conference on Saturday night, April 30th. If you are interested in attending, please sign up. Dinner is $75. There will be a Chinese Dance show, an Interact talent show and Cliff Dockerman speaking that evening.
 
 
Personal Sharing: If you share news with us and donate, those donations go to the Endowment and are used to generate scholarships for worthy local students.
 
 
 
 
SPEAKER INTRO:  Jack Wong will introduce today’s speaker, Vice Mayor of the City of Mountain View, Ken Rosenberg.  He will talk on the “State of the City.
 
 
Our Speaker at our next regular meeting on Tuesday, April 12th: Club Celebration, Anita Grossman will speak about how we are spending our Crab Feed Funds, Helen Meeks will give her new Member talk and Paul Reinhart will talk about Enterprise Leadership.
