President’s Greeting:  Good afternoon & welcome to the Rotary Club of Mountain View where: We’re More Than A Club…We’re a Family!!! 

Our International call to action for 2021-2022 is “Serve to Change Lives.”  Our club’s call to action is “As a Family We Serve to Change Lives.”  Thank you all for joining us today! It’s good to be back after my covid isolation.

Proud to be amongst many voters on Election Day!

General Club Announcements (Heather):
*Kudos to Cathy for a fun happy hour at Vaso Azzurro Restaurant in May!
 
*Keep Sanjay in your thoughts as he is in Houston at RI Conference.
 
*Road Runners- need more volunteers to drive their clients to doctor appointments. Contact them directly to volunteer at 650-940-7016.
 
*Local news: City MV is replacing the ‘Welcome to MV’ sign at Shoreline Blvd. Our club is in touch with the City to ensure the Rotary wheel is replaced.
 
*Club news: The Board is working on our budget for the next year. One key item is keeping lunch costs at a reasonable price while still hosting successful meetings so we have been reviewing a potential site change to Don Giovanni’s Restaurant on Castro Street. Our June 21st meeting is planned to be held there. Heather will post reminder emails on the location change. If you have ideas/concerns on meeting locations, please contact Heather/Sanjay.
 
District Announcements (Heather):
RC of East Palo Alto Bayshore is hosting a Recycling/Donation event on Saturday, June 11th, 9am-2pm, with a truck located at Laura Lane next to the Post Office (2085 E. Bayshore Rd, East Palo Alto). Time for spring cleaning and support a neighboring club’s fundraising project.
 
Member Announcements:
Scott Johnson shared that he participated in a Bocce Ball fundraising tournament with two other club members and their spouses this week and named their team the Mountain Rotary Rollers
 
 
Cathy Merrill asked if members planned to be around this area the last week in June. Since it appears the majority will be out of town, no social hour is planned on the last Tuesday of June. 
 
SPEAKER:  Club Member and well recognized realtor Tori Atwell offered to answer questions from the audience on the Real Estate world. She covered questions related to value, commissions, pricing, Interest rates, market fluctuations and staging.
