World Polio Day Commemoration

Join us as we commemorate World Polio Day, October 24th, one day in advance.    Past District Governor Dwight Perry will help us explore Rotary's Polio Plus Campaign efforts and celebrate all we have done for this important cause.

Dwight joined the Rotary Club of Castro Valley in 1969. He served as club President in 1982-83 and in 1994-95 became District Governor of D-5170. Over the years he has held many district positions, currently he is chairman of the PolioPlus committee.

 

In 1967 he graduated from Cal Poly University, in San Luis Obispo, CA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Printing Engineering and Management. He retired in 1998 after selling his two printing companies. Currently he is the owner of Perry’s Creative Promotions (licensed vendor for Rotary International) specializing in custom lapel and collector pins for Rotary districts and clubs.

 

Over the years Dwight has been involved in a wide variety of community activities. He served as Boys Club President and was a Chamber of Commerce board member for six years. He is a long-standing advisor to the Rowell Ranch Rodeo. He has held the positions of Castro Valley Fire Commissioner and Hayward Area Recreation District Foundation Director.

 

His greatest Rotary moment was receiving, the “Service Above Self” award. Presented to him by Past president of Rotary International Cliff Docterman

 

Both Dwight and his wife Barbara are Paul Harris Fellow’s and major contributors to The Rotary Foundation as well as Rotary Foundation Benefactors.
