Brick Rotary Club Accomplishments for the 2013-2014 Rotary Year
These accomplishments are the result of our club and its members engaging in Rotary Activities in the first quarter of the Rotary year.
• Have re-established a strong relationship, communication and support for the Earlyact and Interact Clubs of Brick
• Awarded Scholarship checks to 9 students of Brick
• Sponsored 2 Brick High School students to RYLA
• Supported Relay for Life and Arnie’s Rotary Rowdies with the Pancake Breakfast
• Hosted another successful Brick Bullet Proof Vest Fund Dance
• Supplied over 55 backpacks and supplies to Brick students
• Helped provide landscaping services to Dottie’s House
• Continued support to the District Gift of Life program that directly helped save 30 children’s live with open heart surgeries
• Hosted another successful Dog Fest event
• Purchased dictionaries for every third grade student in Brick Township through a Literacy Project
• Established the Joe Perna Memorial Scholarship Fund for graduating students of Brick wishing to study Criminology
• Supported the re-building efforts for “Sandy’s Castle” in Point Pleasant Beach
• Supporting the Brick High School Interact food drive
• Through the Future Vision Grant Management Program, secured a total of $3200 for the Visitation Relief Center in Brick. This is in addition to the $6000 we donated last Rotary year bringing our Club’s total to $9200. District 7500 also made a donation of $14,300 to Visitation Relief Center bringing Rotary's combined total contribution to $23,500.
- Organized 2 Blood Drives with the American Red Cross
- Supported the Brick High Interact Food Drive
- Supported U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive
- With one of our Brick Interact Clubs, we purchased 2 Shelter Boxes for Philippines relief
- Have two members participate in two different trips to India in support of the Eradication of Polio program
- Clothes drive for the Mother Theresa Orphanage in India
- First Annual Walk for Humanity allowing the community to raise money and bring awareness to a charity of their choice
