July 2009 New Theme: The Future of Rotary is in your hands.

Guest Speaker: Craig: Metal Fabricator: Craig takes raw materials and turns them into a product. Aluminum and stainless steel fabrication. Art form came from the medieval times- taking something and turning it into something. Stainless steel fabrication. First came here and picked up on the boat work and right now there is no boat work. The sale of fishing boats is being knocked out of the water. Pun intended. Craig has also completed intricate hand rails for homes. Niche market for high quality railings due to the climate of the Central Coast. Stainless and aluminum do not rot. Takes minimal maintenance and lasts. If you have an investment in a house, be sure to think about the long term. Jewelry for your house.

In addition to his vocation, Craig is involved in professional motor sports. Visit his website: camfabmotorsports.comto view slides of Craig's work. More architectural is where Craig is focusing now. Craig came up with an idea for the Polio foundation. He is putting a motorcycle team to compete in the Baja 1,000. Went around to businesses to ask for a $1.00 donation per mile. Baja 500 in June, Vegas Torino second week in August, Baja 1,000 following that. A buck a mile pledge. Rotary logo on the side of a bike would be excellent promotion for our club.

Many charities benefit from the racing industry. A lot of money is donated from motor sports.

Meeting adjourned @ 8:05 a.m.
