In February the Santa Clara City Council awarded Spectra, a division of Comcast, a multi-year contract to manage the 300,000 square-foot Santa Clara  Convention Center. To oversee operations, Spectra has named Kelly Carr as the venue’s general manager.

Kelly Carr is an experienced manager of facilities, proficient in directing all facets of operations of venue management with a strong background in Sales & Marketing and Customer Service. Spent 15-plus years on-air in television and radio as well. Looking to earn a position with an exciting and dynamic organization.

 Oversaw and managed 650-1,000 employees depending on the time of year. With a focus on providing the best experience for our patrons and exceeding our client’s expectations.
 Provided leadership in customer service training quarterly to department heads and employees. Also participated in the annual customer service training. I was responsible for developing an event client survey where our team was ranked as Excellent or Very good 95% of the time. Those ratings resulted in over 85% of clients, reducing their event with us.
 Worked in conjunction with Visit Syracuse, Onondaga County and other local stakeholders to plan and strategize sales calls, site visits, and events to provide clients and guests with an exceptional experience.
 Collaborated with Onondaga County Contract Administrator to develop annual Key Performance Indicators, i.e. Deliverables for the overall benefit of the facility. Also prepared and presented an annual plan and budget for the Oncenter to the Onondaga County Legislature, which included a 10-year strategic Capital Plan.
 Developed, implemented and participated in a weekly event operations meeting to discuss, review and plan logistics and alternate back-up plans for upcoming events.
 Increased overall sales and lowered operational expenses without sacrificing service over my five years at the Oncenter. Reduced the overall subsidy from $1.5M to $1.3M, saving the residents of Onondaga County $200K annually.
 Spent 15-plus years on-air as a Sports Anchor/Reporter. Fostering an ability to quickly create rapport with groups or individuals.
