Space Environments

Casey Keys is the Technical Lead for Space Environments at Maxar Technologies, specializing in spacecraft design and manufacturing. She holds a B.S.E. in Earth Systems Science and Engineering and an M.E. in Engineering from the University of Michigan.

With over a decade of experience in the industry, Casey has extensive expertise in space environments analysis, including radiation effects, total dose assessments, and single-event effect testing. Her work involves radiation testing of spacecraft components, evaluating systems for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and venting, and guiding the space environment design of various spacecraft programs.

During her time at Michigan, she was actively involved in the Student Space Systems Fabrication Laboratory (S3FL) and Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), further reinforcing her passion for advancing space technology.
