President's Message

Thank you for taking the time visit us. The Rotary Club of Santa Clara was established in the spring of 1936 with 15 members in attendance.  Today, with over 60 members, The Rotary Club of Santa Clara has been and continues to be one of the stronger forces in community service.

In addition to making major financial contributions to the welfare of their city, Santa Clara Rotarians have played a strong role in fostering the philosophy of Rotary International toward helping create a better life for people all over the world.  The Rotary Club of Santa Clara has long been honored as one of the top service clubs in Santa Clara County.

I have the honor and privilege of serving The Rotary Club of Santa Clara as the current President. I am proud to say that our club participates in many local and international causes. On a local level, we work put shoes on children in Santa Clara who live below the poverty line.  We have a wonderful Christmas Program.  Each year over 150 children come to our Christmas 4 Kids event where they receive their wished gift, a new warm coat, lunch and an afternoon of fun games, crafts and special visitors like Santa and Sharkie.   The Santa Clara Rotary Foundation gives over $30K per year in college scholarships.  We also participate in the ELC Enterprise Leadership Conference,  where 60 high school juniors join us for 3 days to learn about business.  We go out in the community and help veteran’s and elderly people fix their homes.  We also give thousands away each year to local community groups.  These are just a few ways we contribute to our community.  Internationally we have a program called
Project Hope in Nankana Sahib
, Empowering women, girls, and youth with skills, training and tutoring support. This is in conjunction with IK Onkar Bridges

This year it is our goal to add one additional local project and one international project. We are also looking to build our membership with more members of the community.

To learn more about what it means to be a member of our great club I invite you to attend one of our meetings. We meet every Thursday afternoon for a weekly lunch and online, where we discuss topics relevant to our efforts and feature key-note speakers who present and share their ideas. Whether you're an active Rotarian, a prospective speaker, or just an interested individual, I hope to see you soon.

Yours in Rotary,

Tressa Williams
Club President 2022/2023
