The Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise invites you to join your friends and neighbors in McKinney in displaying the U.S. flag on six major holidays of 2023. The Flag Lease Program is the primary fundraiser for the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise to provide health, humanitarian, and youth service programs throughout our community, nation, and world. We purchase the flags, display, store, and maintain them—it is all done for you. The flags are the property of the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise.

If you live outside of our service boundaries and would like a flag at your residence, please contact the McKinney Downtown Rotary Club about their flag lease program which services the rest of McKinney.

Note

When you lease a flag, we will install a PVC plastic sleeve with a cap in the ground near your front curb. No brackets or fixtures are attached to your home. On each of the five holidays, a 3’ x 5’ U. S. flag mounted on a 10-foot metal pole is placed in the sleeve. In doing so, you accept responsibility to advise the install team on the placement location for the PVC plastic sleeve to avoid sprinklers, plumbing, and electrical service hazards. It is also your responsibility to ensure that the plastic sleeve does not rise above the surface of the ground where it could become a hazard to lawn equipment.

If you would like to sign-up for the 2023 season, the cost is currently $50 per flag lease.  This will go up after March 31st.

Instructions for Proper Flag Care

Please put the flag on your porch each night and put it out again in the morning. Do not leave the flag outside in inclement weather. If the flag should get wet, please let it dry before rolling it for storage.

Please note that your flag will need to fly on the scheduled day of pickup, rain or shine. The Rotary Club will leave the flag in place at your residence until it is dry.
