Entrepreneurship is alive and well in the Fort
Innovation and customer focused service is alive and well in Fort Wayne. Capeable Sensory Products was recognized by SCORE as the Outstanding Innovative Small Business for 2017 and has been nominated for Small Business of the Year for 2018. Additionally, the organization was a finalist for Innovate-Her last year. The company, based in Fort Wayne and founded by Marna Pacheko and Susan Hickok, fabricates and markets fashionable weighted blankets and wearables. Their products, with design rooted in neuroscience, provide a comfortable, calming experience and hope for individuals and families. The only company with patent-pending SmartWeight technology, Capeable products provide applications for individuals with development and behavioral needs as well as anyone who can benefit from stress reduction. Couldn’t we all!
Marna and Susan provided an overview of the company’s growth, future plans and corporate culture. Stressing that people are the most important part of their business, they focus on embracing every day with the belief

Paul Harris Presentation

Jeff Peat presented a Paul Harris award to Holli Seabury, stating this is the “first of hopefully many.”
All members are encouraged to contribute to the foundation, it is a very worthy cause.
We currently have 66 members that are Paul Harris Fellows, which is almost half of our membership. Paul Harris is something that we encourage all members to please consider through the Foundation, which does wonderful work all around the world. Anything you give, it multiplies with every Rotarian around the world.

PLEASE NOTE – Rotary Meeting Time Change in April
Change is in the air – PLEASE NOTE:  Effective April 2, the meeting will begin at 12:00 Noon and end at 1:00. The April meetings are being used as a trial period for this time change in response to requests from the membership.

There is a unique volunteer opportunity available with the upcoming Rotary Young Leaders Academy to be held in April. There are two slots available – contact President Tim with your questions and interest. He is not asking for a commitment, he is simply asking for your ear so he can explain what is involved so interested people have a good understanding as they make a decision. This is a very worthwhile event and a great opportunity to invest in young leaders in our community.

Another unique opportunity: A group of seven Argentinians will be visiting our district in early June. Dawn Harvey of the District Friendship Committee is looking for somebody from our club to head up an effort to coordinate with the other Fort Wayne clubs to put together a schedule of activities for their upcoming visit, which will include all Fort Wayne clubs. Contact President Tim with your questions/interest.
