The Current Stategic Planning Committee (2019 - Present) began in early 2019 and discussed various areas of our club, club meeting format, and priorities and goals for our Club. The proposals were presented to the Club and were implemented on July 1, 2019. Priority 1: Our Rotary Club will attract and retain a diverse membership in CY 2019-2020.
 
Annual Goal 1: Build membership to 150 active members.
 
Tasks/Activities:
 
  • Create a diversity group to develop recommendations for attracting and retaining a diverse membership.
  • Develop a plan to attract new downtown businesses and members.
  • Identify best practices in recruiting new members.
  • Track conversions to membership and why people convert and choose not to convert.
 
Timeline:
 
  • Group in place by August 1.
  • Report on progress in Sept. to club and develop timeline and measurable outcomes for CY 2019-2020.
 
Annual Goal 2: Retain 98% of members, not including relocations and deaths.
 
Tasks/Activities:
 
  • Activate a new retention group for focused retention efforts.
  • Research why Rotarians are leaving and develop a plan to reduce loss of members.
 
Timeline:
 
  • Group in place by August 1.
  • Report on progress in Sept. to club and develop timeline and measurable outcomes for CY 2019-2020.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Priority 2: Our Rotary Club will demonstrate the value of Rotary to our stakeholders.
 
Annual Goal 1: Increase awareness of the history of Rotary, the projects Rotary is undertaking locally and internationally, and create awareness of Service Above Self.
 
Tasks/Activities:
 
  • Create a “Rotary Is…” campaign and reinforce the campaign weekly in meetings and in all communications.
  • Create a media group to determine how best to enhance and improve communications.
 
Timeline:
 
  • Group in place by August 1.
  • Report on progress in Sept. to club and develop timeline and measurable outcomes for CY 2019-2020.
 
Annual Goal 2: Ensure all members find their paths to engagement.
 
Tasks/Activities:
 
  • Conduct a club survey group with members to determine what activities they feel strongly about and report to the club in order to identify and prioritize service projects.
 
Timeline:
 
  • Group in place by August 1.

Priority 3: Our Rotary Club will redesign the Rotary experience.
 
Annual Goal 1: Redesign weekly meetings using the data from the strategic planning process to evaluate each element of the meeting structure in order to improve the Rotary experience.
 
Tasks/Activities:
 
  • Evaluate each component of the weekly meetings to better align with strategic priorities.
  • Redesign Sargent’s program to highlight Rotary and its members.
 
Timeline:
 
  • Weekly meeting changes in place by July 1.
  • Report on progress in Sept. to club and develop timeline and measurable outcomes for CY 2019-2020.
 
Annual Goal 2: Increase networking opportunities to promote greater relationship-building.
 
Tasks/Activities:
 
  • Host small Rotary events at peoples’ businesses or homes.
  • Designate official networking time a half-hour before weekly meetings start to encourage networking.
  • Incorporate community events into networking opportunities for club members.
  • Designate networking group.
 
Timeline:
 
  • Group in place by August 1.
  • Report on progress in Sept. to club and develop timeline and measurable outcomes for CY 2019-2020.
 
Annual Goal 3: Evaluate each of the committees to streamline the committee structure.
 
Tasks/Activities:
 
  • Create passion and purpose group to evaluate each committee’s mission and purpose to better align with strategic priorities and members’ passions.

  • Group in place by August 1.
