President Holli has talked to our District Governor, Al Brothers, and the majority of the larger clubs have cancelled their meetings. The Executive Committee will meet Monday to discuss next steps and we will keep Rotarians posted.  The safety of club members, and their family members, is key.

The State of FWCS:  In Transition But Going Strong
Dr. Wendy Robinson shared the story of Fort Wayne Community Schools history of leadership and current efforts in managing the transition of leadership with her upcoming retirement.
As the first female Superintendent for FWCS and through the last 17 years, Dr. Robinson has demonstrated leadership in what she described as an 'unstable educational environment'. She explained that over the years there have been multiple changes in curriculum standards, graduation requirements, accountability for teachers, testing, and more.
With this in mind, she is working closely with the leadership team and the board to plan for the transition to a new leader, while mapping out the previous years and creating systems to help to maintain their current positive momentum.
Dr. Robinson closed the meeting by asking for Rotarian support in voting for the FWCS Referendum, which will allow for much needed updates to many of their buildings, and for the continued support of FWCS in the years to come.
It is time for nominations for the Paul Harris Community Service Awards for non-Rotarians who have exhibited exceptional service to the community.  The nomination form is below and has been emailed.  Nominations are due April 15 2020.  See Jeff Peat if you have any questions.
