Our speaker on May 13 was Joe Hart, President of he South Bend Cubs.  Joe is in his eighth year as Cubs President and has probably spoken to us at the beginning of every one of those seasons.  This year the Cubs have a new manager, Buddy Baily, who is only 15 away from 2100 wins!  A mark of the success of this franchise is the fact that they had 340 thousand fans in attendance last year and that number grows each year.  They are often sold out.  Because of that attendance they are considering adding a second level to the stadium.  Another indication of their success is that they have six players who have gone on to play in the major leagues.  Under the current contract they will be a Cubs franchise through 2022, but it is likely that they will continue to be Cubs beyond that.
