An easy and enjoyable Sonoma Land
Trust guided walk \;on private trails \; About two miles\, mostly
flat\, with slight rises and drops\, and no major elevation gains. \;
Early spring flower interpretation along the way by Betsy Sanville. \

Highlights: \; Vernal poo
ls are among the most ecologically important and distinctive areas in Cali
fornia. \; A type of temporary wetland\, they support a diverse range
of native plant and animal species\, including spring wildflowers. \;
A hard underground layer prevents the pools from draining in the winter an
d spring\; the water gradually evaporates\, until the pools become complet
