Twelfth Night - hot dogs, hot chocolate and a big bonfire

Image

Friday Jan 3rd, 2014  - It was very cold night but that didn't stop a few hundred people celebrating
the new year with the "burning of the green".  Young people enjoyed the sliding and tobogganing
and the parents kept warm by the fire.  Hot dogs and hot chocolate were sold at the bargain basement
price of 25 cents each by Rotarians, Family and Friends. Despite the frigid temperatures, the fun and
festivities kept everyone warm.  Thanks to the McFarlands for bringing the hay for the safety stops and
for the generator. A special thanks to the Alliston Firefighters for lighting and supervising the
the fire,
Jim Brass for organizing the food and the tree collectors (Don Smith, Bill and Madeline Wray, Sue Leach,
Dave Green, and the McFarland "girls") who collected over 150 trees on Thursday so that we would have
a nice fire
