Sarasota Bay Rotary Club’s Home Stay 2018 District Governors-Elect

Roger and I have been busy this week (January 7- 13) co-hosting a visiting District Governor-Elect from Norway and his wife who are on their way to San Diego (January 13) for their Rotary International training, along with more than 500 other DGEs and their partners.

The home stay program is organized and sponsored by The Rotary Club of Sarasota Bay and this year’s home stay program is the 44th. It is an opportunity for visiting DGEs to experience life in southern Florida while staying with Rotary families for the week. They have participated in several receptions and Rotary Club meetings as well as a number of cultural and environmental events. They have visited the Ringling Museum of Art, the Southwest Florida Museum, Planetarium, and Aquarium, and Myakka River State Park.

The photos show: the official photo of the DGEs, their spouses, and their host families; Roger and me with Susie, their co-host, and their Norwegian guests Rune and Grethe; and a whole group including another host couple with their DGE guests from Turkey all at dinner in a local Italian restaurant.

We have enjoyed our time with so many other Rotarians during this program.
