Kait Perez Diaz, BA

Kait is the Program Director, Sir Frederick Banting Legacy Foundation (SFBLF) and has served in that role since August, 2016. She is responsible for delivery of all SFBLF on-site programs, general coordination and oversight of facilities, administrative support for the Board of Directors and is a key contributor to new program and exhibit development.

Kait moved to Alliston in 1992 and is a 2000 graduate of Banting Memorial High School. She earned a diploma in Marketing, Seneca College, followed by a BA (Anthropology), Trent University.

Kait has travelled in 18 countries including two student exchanges to Japan during high school. Post-university, she spent 2 years teaching English in Japan followed by teaching English as a second language in Australia, Brazil, Guatemala and Canada. She holds the CELTA certificate, University of Queensland, in recognition of her ESL teaching skills and has taught at the Canadian Foreign Language School, CF Base Borden. Kait speaks Spanish and can communicate in Japanese and French.

Raising her family is Kait's top priority but she does find time to play volleyball and baseball. Over the years, her community volunteer work has included respite care through Catulpa Tamarac, Stevenson Memorial Hospital and the Red Cross.

 

Kait lives in Alliston with her husband, son (9) and daughter (10).
