Ben Danilov is a high school senior at Silver Creek High School in San Jose, and the 2025-2026 Interact Governor for our district 5170. Daniel will discuss the importance of Interact, and how Interact District 5170 differentiates itself from other districts. There are a number of ways that Rotary and Interact clubs can support each other to the mutual benefit of both clubs. |

![]() Update on the Summer Program at Youth Services Institute

YSI is a non-profit (started in 1953) that partners with nature to teach kids science. They are committed to inspiring enthusiasm for science and nature. Their newly renovated Nature Center is located at Vason Lake Park. Their other Nature Center is at Alum Rock Park. Summer camp is in session now, teaching kids about our ecosystem, animals and plants. |

Herb lives and breathes Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self. He has been a pillar in our District for over three decades—serving as Past Club President, Membership Chair, Conference Co-Chair, Assistant Governor, and now the District Governor for 2025–26. After retiring from a remarkable 32-year run in corporate Sales and Marketing leadership at Schneider Electric while launching his own ventures—One Commercial Properties and Ritter Vacation Properties. He has also been a visible leader in Pleasanton, serving as Past Chair of the Planning Commission, Parks and Rec Commission, and the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. Herb is also a Board Member and Past President of Sunflower Hill, a nonprofit supporting adults with developmental disabilities. His focus is on growing the district through new initiatives and attracting younger leaders. |
