Celebrating a Community in Focus

The annual Park Cities 4th of July Parade is  the largest single day event in the Park Cities attracting more than 10,000 residents and guests with the goal of creating a safe, fun community-building event.  The 2017 parade was the 15th year the Rotary Club of Park Cities has sponsored the parade in partnership with the Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park .  Longtime University Park resident, Brad Bradley, served as Grand Marshal.

The parade started on Euclid Avenue at Drexel Drive near the Highland Park Town Hall  at 9:00 a.m., though many participants began lining up around 7:30 a.m. The family bicycle judging contest was held at 8:00 a.m. at the Moody Family YMCA, 6000 Preston Road, and then all bicycle entrants joined the parade from that point.  The parade ended at Goar Park in University Park with a patriotic family festival featuring music, food, and plenty of entertainment for children of all ages! The Goar Park celebration started at 9:30 a.m.
