At our September 5th club meeting, Rockaway Rotarian Bill Stepka, Business Administrator for the Rockaway Borough School District, gave our members an overview of his position's duties and responsibilities. He also outlined the three questions on the upcoming referendum regarding building additions and improvements to be voted on in October, 2018.
This past Saturday, President Rod Seifert, Foundation Chair PP Sheila Seifert, and PP Ken Nickel attended the District 7475 Rotary Foundation Seminar in Edison. At the seminar, PP Ken NIckel addressed his fellow District 7475 Rotarians about the Group Study Exchange and Vocational Training programs.
At the September 5, 2018 meeting of the Rockaway Rotary Club, President Rodney Seifert was recognized by The Rotary Foundation as a Major Donor. This honor recognizes his dedication to Rotary International's mission of "doing good in the world" and his ongoing financial support of The Rotary Foundation's humanitarian and educational initiatives.

On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, we will be having the annual District Governor's visit and the opportunity to hear our new DG John Wilson's plans for District 7475 this year.

Our next Rotary Board meeting is this Thursday, September 13, 2018 starting at 7:30 AM at Rockaway Assembly of God. If you have any items for the agenda, please let me know by September 11, 2018. Also, please confirm your availability to attend this meeting so that we have a quorum.
The Rockaway Rotary Club will be participating in the "Celebrate Rockaway" Street Fair this Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM in the center of Rockaway Borough. We will be located outside the RB Police Station giving out popcorn and promoting our club and its activities. We will need numerous member volunteers for this event. Details will be provided at Wednesday's club meeting. Sign up to work a shift!
Once again this fall, we will be helping beautify Rockaway Borough by doing a trash pickup on Saturday, October 6th. Not only does it make our town look better but we receive a donation from the Borough through the NJ Clean Communities Grant Program for our various charitable activities.
We will meet at Rockaway Borough Hall at 9:00 AM to pick up bags and grabbers and then head to our assigned area. We will have a sign-up at the meetings for you to indicate your participation. If you have any questions, please contact Past President Sheila.
