On Saturday, August 18th, Rockaway Rotarians assisted at the distribution of school supplies during the Rockaway “Back-To-School” Program at the United Methodist Church. Due to our contributions and help, many students in our communities will be able to start the school year with a new backpack and the essential supplies to make their school year a success.

At our August 15th club meeting, Rockaway Rotarian and Rockaway Township Superintendent of Schools James V. McLaughlin, Ed. D spoke to the membership about the upcoming school year. He outlined the preparation for the school year and explained various new initiatives and programs that will be instituted in the schools' programs. Rockaway Rotary welcomes Dr. McLaughlin to our club and look forward to his contributions in our charitable and humanitarian efforts.
At our August 15th club meeting, PP George Berry presented the Rockaway Rotary Club "Eagle Award" to PP Jim Stuart, representing the Assembly of God Church, for their assistance in providing the popcorn machine and supplies for our efforts at Camp Merry Heart Service Club Day.
On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, we will be having the annual District Governor's visit and the opportunity to hear our new DG John Wilson's plans for District 7475 this year.

All club members are encouraged to make every effort
The Rockaway Rotary Club will be participating in the "Celebrate Rockaway" Street Fair on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM in the center of Rockaway Borough. We will be located outside the RB Police Station giving out popcorn and promoting our club and its activities. We will need numerous member volunteers for this event. Details will be provided at upcoming club meetings. See PP's Ken or Denise Nickel for additional information and sign up to work a shift at a club meeting.
Once again this fall, we will be helping beautify Rockaway Borough by doing a trash pickup on Saturday, October 6th. Not only does it make our town look better but we receive a donation from the Borough through the NJ Clean Communities Grant Program for our various charitable activities.
We will meet at Rockaway Borough Hall at 9:00 AM to pick up bags and grabbers and then head to our assigned area. We will have a sign-up at the meetings for you to indicate your participation. If you have any questions, please contact Past President Sheila.
