CELEBRATE ROCKAWAY DAY

Rockaway Rotary participated in the "Celebrate Rockaway Borough" Street Fair on Sunday, September 17th.  Rockaway Rotarians assisted the Rockaway Borough Business Owners Association with the many activities throughout the day, promoted our club's civic endeavors, and collected contributions for our Rotary District 7470 "Hurricane Relief" efforts and Gift of Life.

At our September 13th club meeting, Jim Koons, District 7470 Outbound Chair for the Rotary Student Exchange Program, spoke to our members about the "Study Abroad" program in our district and encouraged our club to become involved by financially supporting and/or hosting students who come to our district from around the world to study for a year in our high schools.  For more information go to http://www.exchangestudent.org/.

HURRICANE RELIEF UPDATE

MESSAGE FROM OUR DG PEGGY MADER
 
 
I want to thank everyone who has sent contributions to our District Foundation for Hurricane Relief. To date we have raised over $10,000. District Foundation Chair Bob Button and RI Foundation Chair Frank Geraghty will be working with me to determine where the money can do the most goods. With your permission we will expand our donation to include areas hit by Irma along with the Harvey victims. As soon as we determine where we will be sending money I will let you all know. I do want you to be assured that all donations will go directly to Rotarians (either District or Club) to help in their recovery.
 
Thank you again for your donations, and keep them coming.

They are easy to do and very effective in maintaining your attendance requirements for our club.  Just click on a link under E-Makeups at the top of our webpage and follow the instructions.  Remember to submit a report to Cheri, our Club Secretary.  It is easy to do and it doesn't matter which e-club you visit!
