GIFT OF LIFE ANNUAL MEETING

On Monday, January 28th, President Rod, PP Sheila, and GOL Chair Bill Baron attended the annual Gift of Life Annual Meeting in East Hanover.  Also in attendance were the advisors to our MHHS Interact Club, Gloria McCarthy & Kara Danbrowney, along with the Interact Club President, Brittany Mashel. The MHHS Interact Club presented GOL with a check for $5000 to help finance lifesaving heart surgeries.  MHHS was the “first” District 7470 Interact Club to sponsor a GOL child in 2009, a “seed” that was planted by PDG Joyce Cougle in 2007 when the MHHS Interact Club began to work to raise the necessary funds to sponsor a child.  This initiative culminated with the sponsorship of a 2-year old child from Uganda during the 2008-2009 school year.  Their incredible work over the past few years to again sponsor lifesaving surgeries was praised and recognized by GOL and Rotarians present at the annual dinner.
