Madison Rotary to Host “Meet Your Muslim Neighbors” - The public and area Rotarians are invited to a special presentation of “Meet Your Muslim Neighbors”, given by Mazher and Maryam Ahmad. The presentation will take place at the weekly Madison Rotary Lunch Meeting at Rod’s Steakhouse and Grill on Thursday, October 19 at 12:00 noon.

Bottle Hill day was attended by over 10,000 people. 26 Madison Rotarians and 22 Madison High School Interactors turned out to man Rotary's food station. Ray Freaney, event coordinator, reported that we sold 340 Hot Dogs, 300 hamburgers/cheeseburgers, 300 pretzels, 8 cases of water, six cases of soda and two cases of Gatorade. Net proceeds were $1,722 which will be used to fund the Madison Rotary's charitable distribution program. Thanks to all who participated.
Madison Rotary hosted a Community Shredding Day and was joined by Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore truck. The event will took place from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, October 21 at Municipal parking lot #1 near the Ambulance Squad. The event is open to the public provided a great service to the community to safely get rid of sensitive documents and donate gently used furniture to Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Michel Belt becomes Madison Rotary Acting Club President effective October 1, 2017. Bill Van Ryzin, Club President, has requested a leave of absence from the club due to business pressures. The Madison Rotary Board at its meeting on October 12, 2017 will discuss and adopt a club leadership plan for the remainder of the year. Please remember that board meetings are open to all members and occur the 2nd Thursday of each month at the end of the morning meeting 8:30 am
Madison Rotary kicks off its evening meeting on Thursday, November 16th, 6 pm at Charlie Brown's in Chatham. Meetings will be will be the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Jack Killion, author of "Network: Everywhere, all of the Time, with Everybody" will be the kickoff program. Club Members and the public are invited to participate. There is no cost for the meeting. A District Governor, who is an officer of Rotary International and represents the RI Board of Directors in the field, leads his/her respective Rotary district. Each Governor is nominated by the clubs of his/her district, and elected by all the clubs meeting in the annual RI Convention held in a different country each year. The district governor appoints assistant governors from among the Rotarians of the district to assist in the management of Rotary activity and multi-club projects in the district.
