The Rotary Club of Madison has 2 meetings:  Thursday morning 7:30 am, Madison Area YMCA, 111 Kings Road, Madison, NJ and Thursday afternoon 12:15 pm, Madison Hotel, One Convent Road, Convent Station, NJ.  Members and guests may attend either meeting.

Welcome New Subscriber - Thank you for volunteering to help with End Hunger 3.6 food packing held at Drew University last March.  We have added you to our subscription list for Madison Rotary newsletter.  Madison Rotary newsletter is published electronically every two weeks.  If you wish not to receive the newsletter, scroll to the bottom and click unsubscribe.  That said, we hope you will continue to receive the EBulletin and learn about Madison Rotary and it many projects.  We are in the planning stages for 2018 End Hunger 3.6 program.  This is where you can stay abreast of the End Hunger 3.6 program and many more Rotary activities.  Welcome aboard.

Welcome Mark Kopenski

2017 International Convention a Success
Nearly 50,000 people for around the world came to participate in the Rotary International Convention held in Atlanta June 14 - 17, 2017.  Couples attending from our club included the Moellers, Allisons, Freaneys, Rabacas, individuals included Joe Smith,  Barry Kroll and Jeannie Tsukamoto and her son Andrew.  There were numerous other participants from our district.  There were amazing speakers including Bill Gates, of Microsoft fame, James Quincy, President and CEO of Coca Cola, Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia, Kasim Reed, Mayor of Atlanta, Andrew Young, former Mayor of Atlanta and civil rights activists.  There were numerous other speakers and workshops furthering the purpose and goals of Rotary.  The big news announced at the conference is that Rotary has secured 1.2 billion in contributions over the next 3 years for foundations, governments and individuals for the eradication of Polio.  It is estimated that this project will be completed in 3 years.  A special highlight is the the Bill and Melinda gates foundation pledged a matching grant of 2 to 1 for all money raised by Rotary over the next 3 years capped at 450 million.  Let's all plan on supporting Polio eradication.

Evening Meeting New Location
The new meeting location for the Madison Rotary's evening meeting will be The Waverly Restaurant located at 14 Waverly Place in Madison. Madison Rotary will continue to have three meetings:  7:30 am at the YMCA, 12 noon at Rod's Restaurant and 6:30 pm at the Waverly.  Members and guests can choose to attend any meeting.

Installation Dinner Sign Up
Plan now to attend one of the best Madison Rotary Club events of the year, the Installation Dinner, Thursday, June 29, 2017, 6:00 pm at Mayfair Farms in West Orange.  This year there will be a new format that will all members and guests a better opportunity for fun and fellowship. Help celebrate the installation of Bill Van Ryzin as the 2017-18 Club President.

Madison Rotary Receives Accolades
End Hunger 3.6 program received recognition as the BEST community service program in Rotary District 7470.  The End Hunger 3.6 program packaged 123,000 meals with the help of 600 hundred volunteers, 30 sponsors and the participation of 15 other Rotary clubs in the District.  All meals were distributed locally to numerous organizations serving those in need.
