The annual Madison Rotary Installation Dinner was held on Thursday, June 29 at Mayfair Farms in West Orange. The event was to celebrate the numerous awards granted to the Madison Rotary by District 7470, and to install its new Officers and Board of Directors.  President Jeannie Tsukamoto handed the President’s Gavel to newly-elected President Bill Van Ryzin. 
The Madison Rotary was awarded District 7470’s District Annual Membership trophy, in recognition of the largest number of new secured members during the 2016-17 year.  The club gained a record 21 new members.  Another District Award bestowed on Madison Rotary was the Best Community Service Project for their End Hunger Project 3.6 where 123,000 meals were packaged at Drew University’s Forum .
The new Board of Directors was introduced including President-Elect Michel Belt; Vice President Elizabeth Parker; Treasurer Chris Nyzio; Secretary-Membership Barry Kroll; Recording Secretary Tanya Van Order; Membership Chair, Jim Allison; Communications Chair Ed Kalinka; Youth Service Chair Cathie Coultas; Board Members:  2016-2018 Jim Green, Hal Moeller, Tayfun Selen; 2017-19 Jeff Andrews.
Also introduced were Board Members of the Madison Rotary Club Foundation: Joe Smith, Ellsworth Havens, Carmela Moeller, Deb Starker, and Ray Freaney.
Rotary’s Highest Honor, the Paul Harris Fellow was awarded in various categories:
  • Recognition for Extraordinary Service: Jeannie Tsukamoto, Andy Boles, Art Powell, Bill Saller, Dorothy Wilson, and Ellsworth Havens.
Recognition by Members to other indivduals: David Carson
Recognition of Cumulative Financial Contributions: Michel Belt, Carmen DeRosa, Maureen Byrne, John Meek, Ed Kalinka, Stacy Russo, Peter Flemming, Bill Odell.
President Jeannie Tsukamoto presented “Service Above Self Awards” to Bob Chapman, Rev. E.T. Holland, and Carmela Moeller.   The President’s Award was given to Liz Parker. A Gift of Appreciation was given to outgoing Recording Secretary Cathie Coultas for her many years of service.
