It’s all about convenience and broadening participation for people with busy schedules.  “The Rotary Club of Madison is inviting neighbors, business professionals, community leaders and volunteers who are interested in making positive and lasting changes locally and around the world to join our successful and vibrant organization,” said Madison Rotary President Michel Belt.  The Madison Rotary has added weekly evening meetings to its schedule, “to accommodate many prospective members who are not available to attend meetings during the day,” Belt  explained. The evening meetings are being held at 6 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month at Charlie Brown’s Fresh Grill at 522 Southern Blvd. in Chatham Township. For information or to attend a meeting as a guest of Rotary, contact Ray Freaney at rayfreaney@gmail.com.  Click "Read More" for additional information.
Now Rotarians and prospective Rotarians have their choice of club meetings in the morning, or the afternoon, or the evening. The Madison Rotary is continuing to hold weekly breakfast and lunch meetings each Thursday as well, from 7:47 to 8:30 a.m. at the Madison Area YMCA at 111 Kings Road in Madison, and from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. at Rod’s Steak and Seafood Grille at 1 Convent Road off Madison Avenue in the Convent Station section of Morris Township.

Founded in 1905, Rotary International is the world’s most prominent service organization with 1.2 million members focusing efforts in promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, aiding disadvantaged mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.
“Rotarians are people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures who share a passion for service,” Belt said. “Currently, we have 88 enthusiastic, dedicated and humanitarian service-driven Rotarians in Madison. We network, discuss the needs of our community and take tangible action, while enjoying friendship and having a sense purpose and fun. Our local service projects include ‘End Hunger 3.6,’ Community Shredding, Camp Merry Heart, Gift of Life, and many more.”

Rotary International recently provided local Rotary Clubs more flexibility in meeting schedules and formats and member attendance requirements. Belt said that in response, the Madison Rotary has since made several policy changes to attract new members, including more affordable membership costs, additional service projects and networking events, relaxed weekly meeting attendance requirements — and now the introduction of evening meetings.
