Vocational Service is the Second Avenue of Service. No aspect of Rotary is more closely related to each member than a personal commitment to represent one’s vocation or occupation to fellow Rotarians, and to exemplify the characteristics of high ethical standards and the dignity of work.  Liz Parker was selected from a field of outstanding applicants as the recipient of District 7475 Vocational Service Award.  Elizabeth K. Parker joined Madison Rotary in February 1993, and has been a dedicated Rotarian ever since. Liz, as she is known, is an award-winning journalist and the owner, co-publisher and executive editor of the New Jersey Hills Media Group, which publishes 16 community newspapers covering about 60 towns in Morris, Somerset, Hunterdon and Essex counties in northern New Jersey. Liz has been involved with numerous professional and charitable organizations and has received many honors for her work.  Click Read More for additional details.
Liz has consistently used her vocation to quietly advance the missions of Rotary and countless other charitable organizations in a very public way. Through her print and online publications, she has improved the public image of Rotary, helped strengthen our clubs, and increased the visibility of Rotary’s humanitarian services. Without her generous gifts of time, personal commitment and finances, the needs of our community and Rotary’s services in meeting those needs and improving our communities would not be publicly known. Her work has helped promote Rotary’s trusted brand and extend our reach for service projects and fundraising initiatives. Her work has also helped us share our success stories to attract people to join Rotary so we can do more good. Through her tireless work day after day, Liz exemplifies a great Rotarian taking “action” to make a difference in serving humanity and being an inspiration for us all. Liz is currently President-Elect for Madison Rotary. Liz joins the group of other distinguished Rotarians from Madison who have received this prestigious award including:  Nancy Adamczyk, Camper Bull, Bob Conley and Barry Kroll.
