Greetings Rotarians!

On Saturday, May 19, we will be conducting our  annual spring Community Shredding Day and will be joined by the ReStore truck.  The truck from Security Shredding will be there from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon.  We are in need of volunteers to help clients unload their cars and direct traffic, etc.  A two hour shift would be great. We are also in need of volunteers to help put up and take down tents, tables and chairs prior to the truck arriving.  If you can help with this please arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Please let me know if you can join us that day so we can raise some funds, have some fun, and provide community service.  My e-mail is carmoeller@aol.com or call my cell: 973-224-0415.

Also on hand will be a truck from Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, which will gratefully accept area residents’ new or very gently used home building materials, lighting and plumbing fixtures, hardware items in original packaging, fine art and collectibles, and furniture and other home furnishings in excellent condition.  Having the ReStore truck come to Madison is a convenience for would -be donors,  as the ReStore facility is located in Randolph.  ReStore’s inventory is 100% donated by businesses and individuals and sold to the general public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to build affordable homes in Morris County and surrounding areas.  According to Jeannie Tsukamoto, former President of both Madison Rotary and Morris Habitat for Humanity, “donations to ReStore have built 18 homes in Morris County and have kept over 5,100 tons of reusable materials out of landfills since 2007.”
