PROGRAM LAST WEEK (10/11)

Jeanne Heinke and her husband were visiting Sandwich, MA, where they saw some pumpkin scarecrows around town. That was 4 years ago, and their brainstorm of bringing the idea to the town of Branchville has since caught on. They began by making their own, but her husband started mass producing frames for others and soon there were tableaus all over town. Last year FMI did the Wizard of Oz, Selective Insurance did a whole baseball field of them, someone did the band KISS (who saw a picture of it and contacted them with congratulations!) and more. Jeanne wrote a children's book about it, and with 20 local illustrators pitching in got it published. All proceeds go to the Frankford PTA.
So for her enthusiasm, her creativity, her promotion of our town and her joyous infectious spirit, we made her our CITIZEN OF THE YEAR.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Pictured with her guidance counselor Joanne Koch and member Mike Dolan is OLIVIA WESTLING, our Student of the Month from High Point HS. Olivia has done 243 hours of community service! Through her church she helps collect clothes for the needy and they then do pop-up shops in New York City. She has worked with foster children helping provide Christmas dinner where she also got to dance for them. Her dance studio also put on the Nutcracker with all proceeds going to help terminally ill children make-a-wish. She hopes to go to college down south (Clemson, Liberty U. or VA Tech). Congratulations Olivia - we're proud to give you this honor.
