David Simmer, District Governor for D.5495, visited Gilbert Rotary Club on December 12, 2019.
DG David Simmer visited Gilbert Rotary Club on December 12, 2019.  He greeted members, including AG Jay Jones, who made the formal introduction.  DG David spoke about the new Rotary Vision Statement:  "Together we see a world where people unite, and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves."  He provided many examples of how Rotarians unite and take action to solve the problems both local and worldwide.  DG David made a special note of the Navajo Water Project, which he hopes to have his Sedona club host sponsor in year four.
DG David also recognized member Carla Rowe Malcom for her many roles in our club, hosting exchange students, serving as club secretary for many years and traveling abroad to attend Rotary International Conventions.  Carla has made and maintained Rotary friendships around the world, most recently in Hamburg, Germany last summer.  Congratulations Carla!
Shown above is the Rotary Car which DG David has used to visit nearly every club in our district this year.  We appreciate his efforts to unite this district and bring his thoughtful and challenging message to our club.
