North Texas Giving Day is Sept. 22! Each year, this day is set aside to give to North Texas charitable organizations. Last year our club raised $1500. This year, the goal is to raise $3000! WE CAN DO IT! Please use the link to post on your Facebook pages, send out in emails. Make sure they know to put Rotary Club Fort Worth South in the search box – there are six FW clubs, and we want to make sure we get their donation!

Relief efforts in Italy and Louisiana:
Our Club is donating $1000 each to support the victims of the earthquake in Italy and the flooding in Louisiana. Dwayne Jose immediately stepped up and donated $100 to each relief effort. Other members are donating as well. If you would like to donate to these efforts, either bring your check or notify Gus Niver of the amount you want to be added to your next invoice. We need to get this money out ASAP, so please let Gus know this Tuesday, Sept. 12 if you would like to participate.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s:
Last week Bill Moulder challenged the Club to match his $500 donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. Our own Theresa Hocker is Executive Director of the North Central Texas Chapter and asked all of us to support her in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Sept. 24. For those who missed the meeting a couple of weeks ago, Theresa brought us Dr. Meharvan Singh, who gave us insights on the disease itself and hopes for a cure. If you want to participate in Bill’s challenge, see Theresa at the meeting.

Upcoming Fundraiser:
We’ll have our tickets to sell for Hangman’s House of Horrors no later than next Tuesday. We sell the tickets for $25 and retain a portion for the club as a charitable donation. We’ll have an Eventbrite link set up this week.
