Welcome to the new Rotary year! Now that we are a few weeks in, I want to introduce the District membership committee to you, and highlight the ways we stand ready to support you and your clubs in the critical area of Membership.
There are many tools and references to support you on the district website, but there is nothing like actual conversation on membership challenges and opportunities to relay make it meaningful. As such, I am your primary contact to help unlock the variety of membership tools available to you. We also have a refreshed and enhanced membership committee who you will get to meet as the year progresses to support you!
Our general areas of activity are as follows:
- Best practices in membership
- District surveys and analytics
- Marketing and membership promotion
- New club development
- Support to assistant / area governors in their work with clubs
For your awareness, I’ve attached our terms of reference that we will be finalizing at our first meeting of the year on August 19th. This is a great overview of the files we will be addressing on behalf of the district.
Now to a more pressing matter. I launched the second D5370 membership engagement survey. After 6 weeks, only 384 out of 2052 Rotarians have completed the survey. Please complete the survey if you have not done so, and encourage your members to do the same by talking about it at your meetings.
We will leave the survey open for as long as we need to in order to get a good representation. For clubs that achieve 50% or greater participation, I will provide a detailed individual club report for your planning and action. Please consider this as an incentive, as I will not be doing individual reports for clubs that get less than 50% participation ;-)
