Rotary Interact Club Warms Up RMH On A Cold Winter Day
J. Percy Page High School Rotary Interact Club made their third visit of the school year to Ronald McDonald House for the Home For Dinner program. It was a popular day for club members to come out, and we also had our Rotary Interact liaison teachers Karen Huculak and Pearl Wielki out to help.
The menu was our Italian Extravaganza featuring meat and vegetarian lasagne, garlic bread, Caesar salad, fruit juice drinks and of course a large cake for dessert.
Thanks to the Rotary drivers and helpers of the day Carin Van Vuuren, Vince Campbell, Rose Marie Basaraba, and Hans Granholm. Our favorite Rotary Exchange student Monica Blanco also came out again to help and to meet and greet the Rotary Interact Club members.
This is such a rewarding and powerful outing as the Rotary Interact Club members tour the RMH and get a close and personnel insight into the challenges that face the children getting medical services in Edmonton and their families. It makes youappreciateyour good health and fortune. And of course the residents are very grateful and thankful for the home cooked meal and the positive optimism and energy that the Rotary Interact Club brings. It warms your heart to see the smiles on the kids faces.

Congratulations are in order!! The Heartland Oklahoma Team (H.O.T.) is a local-area Kiva team of 340 members, with total lending near $900,000. Today H.O.T. reached an impressive and fairly rare Kiva benchmark of 100 loans per member!
There are some big lending teams on Kiva but the size of the teams and their impact can be deceiving, browsing through Kiva's stats the other day I was impressed to see some of the milestones some lending teams have achieved, teams like Paying It Forward with 60.1 loans per member, Wind Power Now with 30.1 per member, Team Australia with 30.4 per member and even Team Canada with 7500 members registering 22.1 loans per member.
The team that is disappointing is HP, with vastly more members than any other team (121,000!), but still only 1.6 loans per member. Almost all of the loans were given by the company, and it seems very few employees have carried on the idea, what a missed opportunity.
So I am thrilled with our little 20 member team that currently has made 21.9 loans per member, tiny but mighty, keep up the great work.
Our Rotary club's Kiva team continues to move our loan portfolio ahead. To date we have made 156 loans and to date we have 29 loans that have been successfully paid back.

The average lender on Kiva has an outstanding loan portfolio of just $39.85 while we have a loan portfolio of $1987, the average lender on Kiva has a delinquency rate of 5.25% while we have a delinquency rate of just 1.50% and the average lender on Kiva experiences a default rate of 1.11% while we have a default rate of 0.00%.

Our Kive lending team now consists of 20 individual Kiva lenders, some are members of our Rotary club, some are members of other Rotary clubs and some are not Rotarians at all, this small group of committed lenders has now cumulatively made 439 loans totaling $12,175.
